Baton Rouge Post Great Flood 170 Sales Of Repaired or Renovated Homes April 2017

This infographic is my result of studying 170 post great flood home sales to determine if the post flood housing market was damaged or not, if there’s an stigma left in subdivisions where flooding took place. While the news is overall positive, I very, very honestly wonder if more level heads prevailed, if buyers weren’t so desperate for housing in the lower priced under $185,000 market, would they really be buying these homes and paying so much for them? Baton Rouge’s LOW SUPPLY of inventory, lack of affordable rentals and low interest rates are perhaps causing buyers to buy homes in subdivisions where there was 3 to 5 feet of flood water…and if there was no low inventory, would they be making these same choices?
