Baton Rouge Appraiser Recommends Having Builder Install Concrete Walks
In this short video, Greater Baton Rouge’s Home Appraiser, Bill Cobb, explains how a new home buyer was short changed paying $329,000 for a new home and it was missing a simple 7 foot concrete walk. The absense of this 7 foot walk is going to cause frustration and mud issues and this could have been avoided if the buyer was more aware and Home Builder was more aware of buyer’s needs. A Builder will try to make an approximate 10% profit on such a home, meaning, their cost might be $296,000 and spending a few hundred dollars on a 7 foot walk is not going to dip into that profit by that much.
Now, if this were a $150,000 to $225,000 new home, then you’d extra to pay the Builder extra for such extra concrete walks.
