“Taxable property values in East Baton Rouge Parish exceed $3.5 billion parishwide, said Assessor Brian Wilson, who just wrapped up the 2012 reassessment.
The total assessed property value in the parish increased by about $100 million over the 2011 tax oroll, which was about $3.4 billion, and it does not include new construction.
Individual properties are reassessed by Wilson’s office every four years. Property taxes are paid at the end of every year by property owners.
Wilson said commercial values stayed virtually flat because there were so few commercial transactions.”
